It is the digital age that has made crazy things possible. Imagine explaining things like algorithms and artificial intelligence to kids before the revolutionary Gen Z came in barging and taking the baton for glory.

The kids we are raising are not only equipped with the power to change the future with the weapons and machinery for doing the same but also, they are informed, more connected, and better citizens who use social media for forming meaningful connections and raising issues which we know have been existing since the advent of time.

Now imagine equipping these kids, who spend all 365 days on social media, with a social media platform for their career-related queries. We are witnessing a generation of the bringers of change and revolution. We are talking about future politicians, journalists, teachers, civil servants, and leaders.

These kids are planning their futures when they are 10 years old and most of them are becoming independent before 20. We are witnessing a proactive generation, driven with passion and vigor to follow their dreams.

Social media is one way to unite like-minded individuals who share the same passion for fields like sports, politics, education, etc. What these social media apps can do for children is merge boundaries and connect them with others. It can change the way seminars and lectures happen around the world.

We can organize conferences and fun groups with students around the world. Social media groups on different platforms can be the new global online classes or coaching classes for students. How social media can revamp this is by making sure that students around the world can do this at their own pace and according to their own preferences.

Students from top schools like Harvard and MIT can form groups with students from Africa or India, the LSE students can get in touch with university students from Australia, but this happens for projects and overseas programs. Now think about an Instagram only for politics enthusiasts or a Snapchat for kids interested in photography and graphic designing alongside managing study groups on these apps.

Blog Posts for personal and academic essays and research papers- Many students have a passion for writing and research on various fields and the duration of a student only social media app, with a separate blog section for creative essays, stories and theories will not only help them connect with their peers around the world. This will not only encourage kids to do better but fill their heads with creative and new ideas. This will also build online classes or schools like a global community of future writers with ideas to change and build something great. These blogs can also be accessed by mentors and professors(educators) globally to get more ideas about how to bring new ideas into their classrooms and this will levitate global participation in the field of education.

A message board for updates and reminders on global events and functions- A separate section for pings and updates containing information about competitions, events, and reminders can be set up, which again would work towards building a global classroom community where all the students can work in their respective fields with a sense of diversity and perspectives from around the world.

Provision of live streaming lectures and seminars- This social media app which is propositioned, can stream live lectures and seminars from professors, writers, sportspersons, students, or anyone for that matter. This will encourage participation, build confidence and again, bring light to a global perspective. Mood board for photo essays and blogs — a mood board can let students express their creative side without any restraints. They can be about wildlife, architecture, art, history, design, etc. a mood board could also be used as a journal for students who fancy photography and editing.

Our lives have been drastically changed as a result of social media. It provides us with knowledge, facts, and allows us to connect with people. It’s past time to think about using social media to develop better educational techniques and curriculum. This will not only aid in the development of world-class education infrastructure but will also improve the quality of learning in countries with fewer educational resources. Further online ed-tech platforms can benefit greatly from this set up and so can students. They can build an international community of intellectually motivated students to grow and develop.

Parents and teachers must also understand that social media does not have to be viewed as a competitor to education, as it has numerous advantages and can be beneficial to modern-day learning.
